About The Texas71
One Highway. One Community. One Voice.
Along the blacktop of Highway 71, Texas is moving fast. From the high-tech, jet-fueled energy of Del Valle to the historic, Lost Pine of Bastrop, our communities are growing at a record pace.
But as the old traffic lights turn into overpasses and the open fields welcome new neighbors, it’s more important than ever that we don't lose touch with the roots that brought us here.
That is why The Texas 71 was born. We are the first-of-its-kind independent publication dedicated entirely and exclusively to the people, businesses, and culture thriving along this vital Central Texas corridor and its surrounding areas.
What We Stand For
100% Hyper-Local: We don’t run generic wire stories or national filler.
The Ultimate Community Notice Board: We are bringing back the authentic community paper. From free personal classifieds for local folks selling tools and trucks, to affordable ad spaces for hometown venues, this paper belongs to the people.
Bridging the Old & The New: We celebrate everything that makes this region legendary—the local live music, the independent dive bars, the tradesmen, and the resilient Texas spirit—while welcoming the future of our booming corridor.
